Still alive...

Test

Yes, I passed the test (Thanks kleo!).

I added "my blog" to my cell phone address book. I then used the key pad to add my blogpage e- post address in stead of a phone number. I can see by my word test above that I can instantly post a message and pictures by texting a message to my blog page. Isn't that just "techy" of me to figure out. :) Sure I had done it once before but it wasn't as easy as pushing one button like it is now.

By the way I have began to cook again and single handedly wash dished. I can chop veggies pretty well. My thumb is so protected that I do not have to worry about cutting it when I slice onions. Thanks for a double dose hug veg-a-nut. I feel so warm and fuzzy in side y'all.

Haha you are so internet savvy.. that I don't even know what you're talking about. Posting a message with your phone? Nonsense!

I'm glad your thumb is getting better. How has the weather been for you guys?

The weather here has been much, much better but all the frozen stuff up north is beginning to melt and rivers are reaching flood levels, some roads are closed due to this. Some flood stage stuff is usual this time of year, but it is higher and sooner than expected at this point.

Our whole state was considered a disaster area due to the hard beating on our electrical lines and services. Once our towns electrical lines were repaired, our town has a generator that has been running since all this. I have heard that the main electrical lines bringing power to all of us little communities are broken and we'll be this way until the main lines are repaired. Also, every where you drive here right now trees are down, even great big grand old ones - broken due to the fast freeze and heavy ice.

Tonight dh and I will be two of several chaperones for 26 youth at our church at a youth weekend event out of state. Yeah, I think this will be fun!

Yea! You are able to communicate with us. Been missing you and your wonderful ideas and creations. I am so happy things are getting better. Enjoy the weekend. It sounds like it will be a blast. I am so glad you are able to get in the kitchen. =0)

Dang, 26 youth? I can't imagine. You are so brave.

You are so much more techier than me, I don't even HAVE a cell phone. I'm glad you can still cook, but, of course you can, you're the Dorito! I cooked in restaurants with the ends of fingers cut off (but I sure used a lot of latex gloves in the process).

Wow... you're amazing. No way I'd wash dishes if I had a good excuse not to! :) Take care, Dori.

I'm with Laura == I would definitely use the thumb as an excuse to get out of washing dishes (lol). I'm glad you're doing better. Pretty cool that you can post from your cell phone - I'm still trying to figure out how to get my voice mails!

Oh my Dori! I just caught up on your blog and I can't believe everything you've been through. Glad to hear your thumb is healing. It must have been so painful. If I was going to have to be without electricity I'd definitely want to be with either you or Bryanna. You're the two most prepared gals in blog land I know.

Love and hugs to you!!

Dori.....how very "techy" of you indeed. I have absolutly no idea how to even think about posting with my cell phone. Bravo to you! I broke my hand 1 1/2 years ago so I know what it's like to be able to cook again. It feels like such an accomplishment. Keep it up! It will help ya get better!

I'm impressed.. I am so not tech savvy..

I'm glad your thumb is healing! I cut my middle finger last year pretty bad and it was so hard to do the normal things we all take for granted.
