Grieving

PUP
1997-2006
Today I took Pup into the veterinary because there were some odd things happening to her. A few months ago she had a large tumor removed from a gland on her tummy. The vet felt she was healthy and could live several more years. After the surgery the dr. called and told us the tumor was cancerous. It has came back with a venegance and now has spread throughout her system, there is nothing else that can be done. This is her last weekend with us. If she survives this weekend we will have her put down on Monday so she will not suffer. This is a sad weekend for us, but if we had to go through being loved by a dog for almost ten years again and then losing her... we would. She has been a great dog and we loved her very much too.

Thinking of you, Dori. Of course, you don't want to lose her, but you don't want her to suffer either. You'll never forget what a wonderful dog she has been in your lives and how wonderful you made her life.

aww Dori, I'm so sorry! I know it's hard losing pets. My dogs Shorty and Precious both died unexpectedly - someone shot Shorty, and Precious had an illness we didn't know about. Just remember time heals.

I'm so sorry for your loss, I don't know what I'd do without my fur kids.I'm sure Pup knows how much she is loved, and even though it's hard, putting her to sleep is the right thing if she is in alot of pain.

Many prayers go out to you and your family, and especially Pup. She is a beautiful dog and her kind soul comes through in her photos. My neighbor and her dog are going through the same thing. One day she had a mass and the vet said that it was cancer, and we don't know from one day to the next if she's still with us.

Losing animal friends is just as painful to me as losing a human friend or family member, so I deeply sympathize with you. I wish you and your family the best.

Oh, Dori, I know this is a very difficult thing for you and your family and Pup to go through. When animals are in pain, it's so sad because they don't have the words to describe what they're going through. You just have to trust that you're doing your best by her, which I know you are. Pup knows it too. My thoughts are with you.

I am so sorry I am late with this post, had a weird week.

It is so sad to lose a pet as they become so much part of the family.

You will miss Pup but better not to let him suffer. I am sure he had a wonderful life with you.
